چکیده
Joong Geun Lee, Sang Hyub Lee, Seung Hyun Jeon, Jin Il Kim, Koo Han Yoo From the Department of Urology, School of Medicine, Kyung Hee University, Seoul, Korea Silver-Russel syndrome (SRS) is a disorder present at birth that involves poor growth, low birth weight, differences in the size of the two sides of the body, and genital anomalies. The diagnosis is based on distinct prenatal growth restriction and the presence of typical dysmorphic features, including short stature and limb asymmetry. We report a case of bilateral cryptorchidism with no other genital anomalies in SRS. This report provides an overview of the genital anomalies of SRS and describes, for the first time, a laparoscopic orchiopexy in SRS. (Korean J Urol 2009;50:615-618)

LAPAROSCOPIC DIAGNOSIS OF CRYPTORCHIDISM AND LAPAROSCOPIC ORCHIOPEXY: THE FIRST REPORT FROM THE MIDDLE EAST
Laparoscopic orchiopexy (LO) was used in place of open surgery in 10 patients for diagnosing cryptorchidism in our department. In this method a large abdominal incision was not given in search of intra-abdominal testes. Anorchia was diagnosed in four patients, which was shown to be bilateral in one. In one subject with ambiguous genitalia, revealing the presence of intra-abdominal gonads e...

OBJECTIVES To investigate the prepubertal prevalence of intratubular germ cell neoplasia of the unclassified type (ITGCNU) and its significance as a predictor of testicular cancer and to evaluate the effect of early orchiopexy (at younger than 2 years of age) on subsequent fertility of patients with bilateral cryptorchidism. METHODS Testicular biopsies (n = 660) from 440 prepubertal patients ...

متن کاملLaparoscopic Management of Intra-Abdominal Testis: 5-Year Single-Centre Experience—A Retrospective Descriptive Study
Background. Undescended testis is one of the most common urological problems in children, affecting about 1% of boys at age of 1 year. Of these, about 20% have a nonpalpable testis with a very high probability that the testis is absent. This may have a significant impact on the possibility of malignancy in these testes, as well as on the later fertility of these subjects. Methods. We retrospect...
